Babies...

One of the first sentences out of my oncologists mouth was "I highly recommend you don't have children. Delaying your treatment to harvest your eggs would be dire, and once we start treatment you can not get pregnant, ever".

I suppose for most people those sentences could be devastating, but for Santine and I it wasn't an issue. Santine has never been adamant about having children and I get my fill of children working with them. People continue to advocate for adoption, but this may come as no surprise - you're not viewed as a great option for adoption when you have a terminal illness.

Never fear, Santine and I have babies now - fur babies, but babies none the less.

Trigger and Scout. Hungarian Vizsla's, both born late 2020, 2 weeks apart from different litters.

These little babies are S.P.O.I.L.T and I have zero regrets about it.

They eat better than most people, go pack walking twice a week with our friends from Pet Adventures, walk every evening with us and go adventuring on the weekends. They are bred for hunting and lucky for them, they are living that life. They keep our lives busy, filled with love and there is never a dull moment. Like last night 7pm, they came back from a walk and needed a shower because Scout had rolled in dead hedgehog - live, laugh, love!
